What can I expect?

A day jam packed with engaging content to optimise your current approach to neonatal care. Useful & easy to remember, "golden nuggets" of information which can be immediately utilised. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout and discussions are welcomed during lunch or at the end of the course. Session notes are emailed upon completion of the course for future reference.

Attendees are provided with drinks, snacks, and a light lunch as well as their own learner pack (individual's dietary requirements will be considered). All you need to do is show up and be willing to learn.

Learning Outcomes

  • Recognise and act appropriately to ethical dilemmas of when it's appropriate to hand rear.

  • Gain vital insight into the correct supplies and equipment required for successful hand rearing to include appropriate sourcing.

  • Grasp the ability to triage neonates based on their current condition and how to stabilise a neonate in crisis to include safe tube feeding.

  • Understand the developmental stages of puppies and kittens and how this affects their care requirements.

  • Learn how to assess the age and gender of neonatal puppies and kittens.

  • Know how a healthy puppy or kitten should be presenting and how early detection of abnormalities/trends can mean the difference between life and death.

  • Discover step by step feeding guides and how to tailor your feeding plans accordingly.

  • How to prevent common hand rearing pitfalls and understand how to rectify them.

  • Practical tips on how to breeze through the weaning process and approach to vaccinations/safe socialising.
